Zen training centre in South India
Bodhi Zendo is a Zen training center in South India’s Perumal Hills and a meeting point of spiritual interested people coming from all over the world. Here, Zen-Master Fr. AMA Samy lives and teaches, here the Bodhi Sangha, an international community of followers of Zen-Master P. AMA Samy, are gathering.
The Bodhi Zendo meditation center is open to all who practise Zen, or who wish to experience it. Spirituell seekers regardless of their religious background can spend some days or weeks in silence and meditation, and experiencing the sisterhood and brotherhood of the Sangha.
At Bodhi Zendo visitors will find a beautiful Zen garden with wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. There is also a considerable library for self-study with literature on Zen, Buddhism, Christianity and other religions, also on Philosophy, Psychology and other subjects.
Bodhi Zendo has 38 places, so prior to your stay at Bodhi Zendo please contact the management to reserve a room (mostly single rooms with bathroom, some double rooms, some with extern bathroom). You are expected to pay only for meals (South Indian vegetarian food) and lodging. Classes and teachings are free of charge.
- For people coming from outside of India:
The single rooms with toilets will cost Rs. 600 per day (food included), the rooms with no toilets, Rs. 550
- For people living in India:
The single rooms with toilets will cost Rs. 400 per day (food included), the rooms with no toilets, Rs. 350
Please make a reservation well in advance: Bodhi Zendo can easily be booked out! If you do not hear from Bodhi Zendo within a week, please send your e-mail a second time. If you intend to stay for an extended period of time, please discuss your request with the head of Bodhi Zendo.
